Hi! My name is Amber. I am a single 27 years old teacher. I spend my days teaching (and loving) little ones all they need to know. At night, I spend time with my baby girl Coco. My weekends are filled with family, friends, and sometimes a date or two.
How can you not love that face? Don’t let her fool you. She is very naughty at times.
My sister is my very best friend and I look up to her even though she is the younger one. We don’t go a day without talking, unless we are fighting, which only happens every once in awhile. She has my back, and will tell me when I am being crazy. She puts me in check, and is always down to have a good time. She encourages me and pushes me to be my best every day.
Teaching brings so much joy to my life. Each year I fall in love with my students and treat them all as if they were my own. I would take every single one of them home if I could. Good thing I live in a one bedroom. 🙂 Growing up, all I wanted to be was a teacher. I would “practice” teaching my sister in our garage with our whiteboard and stuffed animals. When I think about it now, I don’t know what my career path would be if I wasn’t teaching. It has always been a dream of mind and it is where I feel comfortable. Some days I look around my classroom and am amazed that I am influencing these little ones in front of me. They do what I ask of them and want to please me. It makes me realize how much of an effect I can have on some of their lives. How precious each word I say, or how I say it can ruin or make their day.
My sister and I live 10 minutes apart from each other. The beautiful thing about this is we get to see each other very easily and almost every day. (Zack secretly hates this.) We walk our dogs, make dinner together, hit them gym, or catch up on our shows. I feel so fortunate to have such a close relationship with my sister. People tell me its not normal, but I couldn’t imagine it any other way.
I can’t wait to continue to share with you my joys in the classroom, book review, recipes, DIY projects, and everything else.
